Grantstand is an album by American jazz guitarist Grant Green featuring performances recorded in 1961 and released on the Blue Note label in 1962. The CD reissue features one bonus track from the same session. All compositions by Grant Green except as indicated.
Grant Green's third album to be released, Grantstand teams the clear-toned guitarist with an unlikely backing group of musicians who rarely appeared with Blue Note otherwise: tenor saxophonist Yusef Lateef (who doubles on flute), organist Brother Jack McDuff, and drummer Al Harewood. Although Lateef was beginning to delve deeply into Eastern tonalities and instruments around the same time, his playing here is pretty straightforward and swinging, fitting the relaxed, bop-tinged soul-jazz that makes up most of the session.

The third album of his career, "Grantstand", is a bit reminiscent of Wes Montgomery's very early recording, not in the same voicing or tone, but in some of the hottest paced stuff Green would do. He was not much for rhythm playing although he was certainly very good - the three piece album "Green Street" has him playing chord work out of necessity given the sparse arrangements
