The Hits Collection (Kim Wilde album). The Hits Collection is a compilation album by Kim Wilde. The album was released on March 6, 2006. Originally the album was intended to be a repackaged version of the 1996 compilation Best of Kim Wilde. When the album was announced, the webmaster of Wilde's fansite contacted EMI and asked if it would be a better idea to release a new compilation of Wilde's EMI "first" years 1981-1983 instead.

Kim Wilde, born Kim Smith, 18th November 1960, is the eldest child of 1950's rock 'n' roller Marty Wilde and Joyce Baker, who was earlier a member of the singing and dancing group The Vernons Girls. Kim was born in the West London suburb of Chiswick and attended Oakfield Preparatory School in the Dulwich area of London. Kim Wilde was now hot property and continued to promote the album and singles around the world. Wilde's fourth single entitled 'Cambodia' was released in 1982 and again continued her success around the world by topping the charts on France, Sweden and Switzerland, but managed number 12 in the UK Singles Charts. Kim Wilde released her next single 'View From A Bridge' which managed number 16 in the UK but did far better in other countries especially in Australia. Later in 1982 Kim Wilde released her new album 'Select'.

Kim Wilde is the eponymous debut studio album by British singer Kim Wilde, released on June 29, 1981 via the RAK label. The songs on the album were all written by Kim's father, the successful 1950s rock and roll singer Marty Wilde, and her younger brother Ricky Wilde and most of the music was played by the then current line-up of the symphonic rock band The Enid. Production duties were fulfilled by Ricky Wilde. The cover portraits were taken by renowned British photographer Gered Mankowitz.
