The Best Of. Billy's Band.
The Band is the second studio album by the Band, released on September 22, 1969. It is also known as The Brown Album. According to Rob Bowman's liner notes for the 2000 reissue, The Band has been viewed as a concept album, with the songs focusing on people, places and traditions associated with an older version of Americana.
Certainly the best Beatles album- it shows every side of them. Their rocking side (the opening track, Getting Better, the reprise), their soft, melodic, beautiful side (She's Leaving Home), their experimental side (Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, Fixing A Hole, Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite!, Within You Without You, and A Day In The Life of course. and their pop side. First album ever of all original songs by a single artist or band. Before this album, all albums were full of covers and songs written by song writers. All songs written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney - westofohio.

The White Album is the best Beatles album because it shows most fully the Beatles range of songwriting skills and influence. it's astonishing their ability to write brilliantly in so many vastly different styles. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The ambitious concept album that really wasn’t. Consistently voted best album of the 1960s, if not of all time. But Sgt. Pepper’s now suffers from over exposure, and it takes an effort to remember how mind-blowing it was in 1967.
Billy Bragg and Wilco, ‘Mermaid Avenue’. It could have turned into a reverential school project - earnest folk rockers dutifully writing music for lyrics left behind by the sainted Woody Guthrie. But Mermaid Avenue is a loose, rollicking set that brings the best out of everyone involved. Yo La Tengo also find time for a couple of space-disco novelties, a noisy Beach Boys cover and a few silly love songs, adding up to the kickiest album of their stellar career.
