written and produced by Different Fountains Recorded at Different Fountains Studio, Brussels Vocals on ‘That Snake’ by Ciska Thomas, mixed by Chris Ferreira, mastered by Jose Rico release date: 1st of september 2015. DFE006 – BEP004 7′. Different Fountains. DFE004 12′. Muybridge, Wading For Guyton 33/45 RPM. A1. Muybridge (5:57), 123 BPM. A2.

Much of the first half of the album is given over to these vocal-led songs, and each one is a delight to listen to. The shapeless tremolo of guitars that drift over Catch 23 have a bewitching shoegaze quality, the track gently building up in layers of melody and dropping away to a more raw electronic construct when the time comes for the singing to begin. It’s noticeable that there are less obvious song structures in place, so instead of horus you get protracted intro-vocal al freestyle, for example. It’s in these tracks that it becomes clear just what skills and ideas Different Fountains have at their disposal. If they chose, they could no doubt turn out a whole album of either style, not to mention a healthy slew of club-friendly EPs.

Since 2012 Belgian duo Different Fountains have been supplementing the world with a unique blend of oddball house and techno which you could say culminated in the release of their 2014 album Shrimp That Sleeps. Bernardo Risquez and Michael Langeder’s project is associated with an emerging constellation of Belgian artists and crews that include, among others, Meakusma, Vlek and Bepotel. Oli Warwick ventured into this world late last year for One Night In The Schlachthof, Eupen, where he witnessed.

Brussels-based twosome Different Fountains has made some of the most interesting electronic music of recent times, with their distinctive sound somehow joining the dots between moody outsider house, and experimental electronica. Here they present the third part of their Organism series. They begin with pool, a thrillingly bass-heavy fusion of dub-house rhythms, hissing cymbals, delay-laden electronics and horror-influenced late night creepiness. 2015 (4123) September 2015 (2946) August 2015 (3343) July 2015 (3600) June 2015 (3504) May 2015 (3686) April 2015 (2828) March 2015 (3288) February 2015 (1) December 2014 (1802) November 2014 (3741) October 2014 (3088) September 2014 (3655) August 2014 (3409) July 2014 (3314) June 2014 (2561) May 2014 (3098) April 2014 (2720) March 2014 (3406) February 2014 (3185) January 2014 (3288) December.
