BN 1558, Sonny Rollins Volume 2, notable for the rare presence of Thelonious Monk and Horace Silver playing together, on the Monk composition Misterioso. Selection: Misterioso. Quite a different album from Rollins Volume 1 which more showcases Sonny, while Volume 2 rewards you with more ensemble playing. Should be on everyone’s shelf. I found this classic a few years ago in a Brussels record shop. I live in Brussels, which has been a good hunting ground for me over the past decades. Condition of the vinyl : absolutely wonderful. Condition of the cover : VG+ at least. Dear London Jazz collector, Once again, as a Blue Note fan, I always look forward to your detailed and informative posts.
