Hello mkaabel, This is sad...very sad. How did you know him? Michael was my first cousin...my Dad (Tom Murray) older sister Edna's son...we all loved Edna, she was truly one of of kind. I have a vivid colorful memory of Michael coming to stay with us for a long weekend in 1974... I was 12. Always thought I would see him again, but....no. I am certain he would have remembered me and that weekend. But for 30+ plus years I put forth ZERO effort to find him, as we are all to damn busy to do the important things....Look At All The Crazy People!!!! He was ahead of his time! RIP Mickey. See you in 20-30 years. Jimmy

Jimmy - I am Michael's sister, Edna's daughter! Your dad is my uncle. I'm surprised you didn't know that from talking to your dad. I have been in contact with Tommy for years.

Correction: Michael didn't die on Ash Wednesday, he died January 10. After getting his remains back from Denver, I am in the process of having his obit finalized, picking out an urn for his ashes, getting him interred at the Resurrection Cemetery, and having my cousin, Father Steve O'Gara, performing a small ceremony at the cemetery with just the immediately family and blessing his ashes. Also, I am getting his guitar mailed back to me too. That's all he really had. Michael was hard to hold a conversation, had some mental issues, and was also homeless between 1995 and 2007. He finally found a motel on Colfax Ave. in Lakewood, CO where he lived until he died. Mary O'Gara-Abel

Jimmy - Michael is my brother. Edna is our mother. I told your dad, Tommy that he died. Didn't he tell you? He died on January 10. On Ash Wednesday, I called the motel he was living in to check on his welfare and they told me he died 3 prior.

Sadly, Michael passed away last month. He was 69 years old and still played his guitar every day, along with writing music, and singing. He had cirrhosis of the liver.
