Further information: There Will Be Blood (album). Anderson had been a fan of Radiohead's music and was impressed with Jonny Greenwood's scoring of the film Bodysong. The score by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood was a sonic explosion that reinvented what film music could be. And the images captured by Robert Elswit, a genius of camera and lighting, made visual poetry out of an oil well consumed by flame. For the final word on Blood, I'll quote Plainview: "It was one goddamn hell of a show.

Tracks 5 and 8 feature excerpts from "Popcorn Superhet Receiver", performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Robert Ziegler, composed by Jonny Greenwood. Music Scored at Abbey Road. Additional Score Recorded, Mixed and Engineered at Hook End Manor.

In 2007, acclaimed director Paul Thomas Anderson made "There Will Be Blood", an epic character study of Daniel Plainview, a fictional oil baron starting to discover a fortune at the turn of the 20th century. Plainview was played by Daniel Day-Lewis and the role garnered him his second Academy Award for Best Actor

Jonathan Richard Guy "Jonny" Greenwood (born 5 November 1971) is an English musician and composer best known as the lead guitarist and keyboardist of the alternative rock band Radiohead. Noted for his aggressive playing style, which features heavy use of effects, melodic arpeggios - often played in unusual time signatures - and unique use of noises and feedbacks, especially after the OK Computer era, Greenwood is consistently named as one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Greenwood composed the soundtracks for the films Bodysong (2003), There Will Be Blood (2007), Norwegian Wood (2010), We Need To Talk About Kevin (2011), The Master (2012) and Inherent Vice (2014), and serves as e for the BBC Concert Orchestra. He is the younger brother of Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood.
