Where Did I Come From" is very cleverly written, and I love it's description of conception and pregnancy. The description of sex was too graphic and lovey-dovey for what I thought was a good explanation for a seven-year-old with divorced parents. It goes into several pages of descriptions of kissing, thrusting, erections, the male orgasm, and ultimately makes sex sound like a very male-centric act (and always, curiously, in missionary position). On the bright side, it did let me collect MY thoughts and gave me the confidence to explain things to my kid with the level of detail.

What we hunger for is an understanding of how we, as human beings, actually began. Ask a large number of people, "Where did we come from?" and you will get a large number of answers. Once we sort through these answers, we see that they basically fall into two sides.

This question is directed at the events after Abel’s death, after God protected Cain with a sign. We do not know what the sign was but it must have been significant. After Cain received the sign, the scriptures say Cain had sexual relations with his wife. So the LORD said to him, Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold
