Birds Of The Sea. 11. mp. Billy Jones was born in Denison, Texas on November 20,1945. He started his career singing gospel in church. He also toured the USA as a member of the Army Air Defense Command Choral Group. In late '68 he settled in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He soon became a vocalist with, where he stayed off and on until 1980. His solo career started in 1970 with the single on Catfish. Two solo albums were released. In 1975, he joined funk band and continued recording singles for several labels. In 1979, he joined the transition from into. Billy Jones died June 10, 1982 of cardiac arrest.

Mary Star of the Sea is the only album by American alternative rock band Zwan. It was released on January 28, 2003. Honestly" and "Lyric" were released as singles. The album is named both for the Blessed Virgin Mary, from whom bandleader Billy Corgan claimed to find comfort and guidance, and for the Catholic Church in Key West, Florida where he spent time during Zwan's early rehearsals.

Billy Jones rise to stardom as guitar player with The Outlaws, touring the world and rocking the socks off of to anybody who came to hear them play. With hits like There Goes Another Love Song and Green Grass And High Tides, they were major players in 1970’s Southern rock scene. Rebel from the very beginning, he got kicked out of high school for refusing to cut his long hair. Talented musician even at young age, he was offered a placement in famous Julliard School of Music in New York, while still studying at Chamberlain High School in Tampa. After graduation, Billy played and recorded one album with a local Tampa area band called . Sledge before joining The Outlaws in 1972, first as their keyboard player, later sharing lead guitar duties with Hughie Thomasson. He recorded six albums with The Outlaws before leaving the band in 1982. Billy jones committed suicide in February 2nd 1995.

The group called it quits after one album, but that disc retained enough interest to inspire a reissue in the '90s. This Billy Jones should not be confused with the Sugarhill Gang writer and producer, among many others.
